About Me

I’m Alex White

A trauma therapist, an educator, an outdoorsperson, dog dad, music lover, and fellow human with a deep passion for connection.

Since I was a kid, I’ve had a passion for people - knowing them, smiling with them, understanding how they lived their lives. Looking back, I can also see how I held myself back from engaging with people the way I would have liked to. With concerns of judgment or rejection, I would hide my authenticity leaving me feeling confined, discouraged, and isolated.

My growth journey has had plenty of highs and lows, and I expect it to continue throughout my life. What I’ve learned though, thanks to good friends, mentors, colleagues, and therapists, is that healing happens in relationships.

It is this belief that inspired my life’s work as a therapist, and reinforces why and how I continue to show up in it each day.

What I bring to our work

Curiosity • Presence • Humility • Clinical Expertise

In spite of my role as the therapist, I see you as the expert in the room on your own experience. With more than 15 years in the mental health field, I’ve come to trust and believe in each individual’s capacity to grow, heal, and realize the life they want for themselves amidst the most profound of osbtacles. Our work together is in exploring the patterns that are getting in the way.

As a depth-oriented therapist, I seek to understand these patterns, as they are often evidence of pain and wounding that started early on in our lives. They may impact us at work, at play, or across the relationships in our lives. I see each session as an opportunity to look beneath the day-to-day behaviors and symptoms and, with hope, shift these long-held beliefs of how we see ourselves in the world to support lasting growth and change.

Virtually everything that is “wrong with you” began as a compensation, as a survival mechanism in childhood. Therefore, it deserves nothing but respect and compassion.
